What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a great solution for straightening teeth and improving your smile. Wires and fixed brackets were once the only option for correcting misaligned teeth but now Invisalign with the use of a series of removable aligners can shift teeth into their desired position. These invisible braces are transparent and virtually invisible.

How are Invisalign braces made?

These virtually invisible aligners are made of a thermoplastic material developed especially for Invisalign treatment. The clear braces are similar to teeth-whitening trays. A series of Invisalign aligners will be customised for you and used in sequence will, shift teeth into alignment.

How does Invisalign work?

Each aligner needs to be worn for at least two weeks, before you go onto the next one in the series. This will gradually move your teeth into alignment. We will monitor progress to make sure that everything is progressing correctly.

For the best results, aligners need to be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day. They can be removed when you eat or, drink and for brushing and flossing.

Invisalign is a safe and effective way to straighten teeth and obtain amazing results. Giving you a confident smile.

What is Invisalign used for?

Invisalign can help in the treatment of various dental problems:

  • Crossbite: This usually occurs when both the upper and lower jaws are misaligned. This may lead to loss of bone, degradation of the teeth and periodontal disease.
  • Gapped teeth: Gaps between teeth may occur due to unusual growth of the jawbone or lack of surrounding teeth allowing them to move into the space created. Gapped teeth may lead to gum problems and periodontal disease.
  • Underbite: It can occur due to inadequate upper teeth or to growth anomalies in the jaw, may lead to inappropriate bite. This obstructs normal function of the front teeth and can cause severe jaw pain.
  • Overbite: This is when the upper jaw just out over the lower jaw. An overbite may lead to gum problems, wearing of teeth on the lower jaw and joint problems.
  • Crowded teeth: Crowded teeth, if not treated, can become extremely crooked. It may be difficult to clean misaligned teeth and that may lead to tooth decay, gum disease and plaque.
  • Open bite: An open bite occurs when teeth in the upper and lower jaws do not meet properly. Other than genetic causes, thumb sucking may lead to an open bite.

With constant research and development, Invisalign is constantly improving. Our dentists can now treat malocclusion problem more easily. For more complicated problems, you may be a candidate for clear, fixed or lingual braces.

We may suggest Invisalign Lite or i7 for less severe cases. Both of them offer the same benefits as Invisalign braces, but they have been specially designed to treat simple cases using fewer aligners.

Advantages of Invisalign braces:

Just like the traditional braces Invisalign is a great way to straighten teeth. However, Invisalign offers advantages over the traditional braces in teeth straightening which include:

  • Nearly invisible: Invisalign aligners are clear and remain virtually invisible in your mouth. It is practically impossible for others to detect that you are wearing these clear aligners.
  • Comfortable to wear: Invisalign trays are carefully designed from smooth, flexible plastic. Unlike metal brackets and wires, the trays offer a higher level of comfort for gums, lips and cheeks.
  • Invisalign Delivers results faster: Compared to conventional teeth-straightening procedures, Invisalign delivers results faster. On an average, Invisalign braces take about 12 to 18 months to provide results. For less complicated cases of teeth straightening, Invisalign treatment can show results in weeks.
  • Easily removable: One of the greatest advantages of wearing Invisalign is that it is easy to incorporate into your lifestyle. The aligners can easily be removed so that you can enjoy your favourite food and drink throughout the treatment period.

How much will my invisible braces cost?

The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the work that needs to be done. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Mohsen Mobasseri, an accredited Invisalign provider to discuss your particular requirements. Discounts are sometimes available.
